Updated AMVIC consumer guides

| Consumer bulletins

When it comes to Alberta’s automotive industry, AMVIC promotes consumer protection from unfair practices through education, public engagement and free resources. Recently, AMVIC updated three of its consumer guides (pictured below) to make them more current, clear and helpful to anyone who may be planning on buying a vehicle.

The refreshed “Budgeting for a vehicle,” “Shopping for a vehicle online” and “Spotting a curber online” consumer guides are available as downloadable and printable documents. Being an educated consumer before, during and after a vehicle transaction can put you in control of the situation.

The updated guides include tips, questions and scenarios to consider to protect you, the consumer, against unfair practices. Two of the guides have a bill of sale checklist on the back (budgeting for a vehicle and shopping for a vehicle online) and the spotting a curber online guide contains a vehicle history checklist for reference.

AMVIC strives to protect all consumers by educating them of their rights and responsibilities within Alberta’s automotive industry. These consumer guides will be handed out at various public events and are available at the Edmonton AMVIC office during regular business hours.
