Mandate and roles

AMVIC, as a public agency, is accountable to the Government of Alberta, through the Minister, in fulfilling its mandate and accountabilities.

The mandate and roles document for the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council has been developed collaboratively between the Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction and the council concerning their respective legal and administrative roles and responsibilities relating to the delegation to the council under the Consumer Protection Act.

Although the ministry is responsible for ensuring the council is effectively performing its delegated roles and responsibilities through oversight of the board, the council is an independent body making independent decisions.
