The Salesperson Fair Trading Act Course is now available online. This means you can take the course anytime of day, seven days a week.
How to access the course:
1. Complete your salesperson registration application through AMVIC’s online portal.
2. Once you have completed and paid for your application you may then register and pay for the course through the AMVIC online portal.
3. Once payment is confirmed you will be given access to the course through a confirmation email.
*** Please ensure you are only using either Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. If you are using Internet Explorer please ensure it is the latest version (IE11). If you choose to use Chrome please add amvic.articulate-online.com to the flash compatibly mode (settings/advanced/content settings/flash/add amvic.articulate-online.com and restart the browser).
***DO NOT USE AN IPAD to access course. Users have experienced significant problems using an iPad and its app.
Note: You have 30 days from the date you submit your salesperson application and pay the $100 fee to complete your application in full. You must complete the Salesperson Fair Trading Act Course within the 30 days of submitting your application. After 30 days, your application will be refused and you will be required to reapply.
4. You should receive an email confirmation and course certificate within 24-48 hours after completing the final exam. If you do not receive a course confirmation email please contact AMVIC education.
Your registration application will begin processing only once the course is complete and all required documents are submitted and fees are paid. The requirements for applying for a new salesperson registration are available at amvic.org.
NOTE: Automotive salespeople are responsible for renewing their AMVIC salesperson registration annually. AMVIC salesperson registration fees are non-refundable.
Any salesperson who ceases to be registered for a period of more than three years must retake the Salesperson Fair Trading Act Course prior to being issued a new registration. The course fee remains the same: $160.
How do I access the online portal?
You must set-up your automotive business and/or salesperson account by clicking “Manage Your Licence” found at the top right of amvic.org. In order to do so, you need the user name and password that was emailed to you when you started your salesperson registration application.
What if I haven’t applied for my salesperson registration yet?
The online Salesperson Fair Trading Act Course is open to anyone who is interested in taking it. If you plan to become a salesperson but have not started your application, please start filling out your application to receive your user name and password.
Note: the registration fee is non-refundable so do not follow this process if you are unsure that you want to become a salesperson.

What if I don’t want to apply for registration now or ever or I’m not currently employed with an automotive business?
If you are unsure about becoming a salesperson or you have no intention of becoming a salesperson but want to take the course, please send an email to email@example.com requesting access to the course. The $160 course fee will apply.
Be sure to include:
- your first and last name
- preferred email address
Once you receive an email with your temporary password, you will then need to register and pay for the course through the online portal. Click “salesperson” then “manage your salesperson registration”. Enter the email address you provided along with your temporary password and click “login”. You will need to immediately change your password and security questions before registering for the course.
You will have 30 days to complete the lessons and final exam and the $160 fee will apply. If you do not complete the course within the allotted time you will be required to submit the full $160 fee to enroll again.
Cancellation policy for training course
No refunds will be issued for online classes.
Online course rewrite
If you have failed the online course exam and wish to rewrite you may do so after waiting 30 minutes. You can register for the $40 rewrite through the online portal.
Note to employers
Registration is the sole responsibility of the salesperson and all confirmations, documents and refunds are sent to the salesperson’s email.
