Edmonton— McEwan Motors Inc. of Leduc has ceased business operations as of Feb. 1, 2019, and is no longer authorized to wholesale vehicles or sell used vehicles in Alberta. McEwan Motors Inc. is also known as Back on Track Credit, Credit 4 Trucks, Kings of Trucks, The Loan Arranger and Turbo Auto Loans.

The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) was first alerted to a possible issue by a consumer complaint on Jan. 25, 2019 over a concern with McEwan Motors Inc. failing to deliver a vehicle on an agreed-to date. AMVIC opened an investigation and immediately sent an investigator to the property to assess the situation.

AMVIC’s preliminary investigation has revealed 122 unpaid liens on consumer vehicles and inventory, totaling approximately $839,860. A number of consumers are at risk of having their vehicles seized. It is possible that consumers may end up having to make payments on a vehicle they no longer have. Creditors have seized the inventory on the property. AMVIC began contacting known affected consumers directly on Jan. 31, 2019 and is actively investigating nine current consumer complaints.

Anyone who has concerns over recent dealings with McEwan Motors Inc. or a representative of the business should contact AMVIC’s consumer services team online, via email or by phone:
