The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) is the regulator of Alberta’s automotive industry. AMVIC protects the public interest and promotes trust and confidence in the motor vehicle industry through business licensing, salesperson registrations, inspections, investigations and education. AMVIC also works to foster the positive exchange of information among industry stakeholders.

The AMVIC board consists of 13 members. Seven directors represent the general public appointed by the Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction; five directors represent five automotive industry associations; and one director represents the industry-at-large, which is appointed by a majority vote of industry directors.

Interested industry members are invited to apply for the industry director-at-large position on the AMVIC board. This board member would be expected to prepare for, travel to and attend board meetings, as well as participate on various committees. The AMVIC Board of Directors provide governance of the council and oversees the management of the council’s activities.
