As Alberta’s automotive regulator our mandate is to provide consumer protection in Alberta’s motor vehicle industry through mandatory licensing for motor vehicle businesses and salespeople as required by the Consumer Protection Act of Alberta, and to provide a fair marketplace for automotive consumers and businesses.

Issued to a business or individual who has contravened the Consumer Protection Act or regulations.
2 Undertakings
Voluntary acknowledgement of a contravention. Can only be offered if a bad practice (breach) has already stopped.

Number of AMVIC-registered salespeople as of June 30, 2025. Anyone who solicits, negotiates or concludes an automotive sale in Alberta must be registered by AMVIC.
