The Fair Trading Act of Alberta governs AMVIC’s regulatory responsibilities.  The Act took effect on September 1, 1999. AMVIC’s standards and performance will be measured against how well it achieves the following expectations:

Promote professionalism and integrity among motor vehicle industry businesses and salespeople.

Fair Trade Act Regulations contains a section that pertains specifically to the motor vehicle industry and the authority under which AMVIC operates.
