Edmonton— AMVIC has suspended the automotive business licence of Autos R Less Corp. in Medicine Hat for knowingly selling vehicles with outstanding liens to consumers. AMVIC is aware that 21 registered vehicle seizure notices have been issued in relation to Autos R Less Corp., of which nine have been purchased by Alberta consumers. These vehicles are in the process of being seized by the lienholders.

Consumers who have purchased a vehicle from Autos R Less Corp. that has been repossessed should file a consumer complaint on amvic.org and seek independent legal advice to protect their interest in the vehicle. Consumers who purchased vehicles with unpaid liens could potentially be paying for a vehicle they no longer own and face credit issues.

Autos R Less Corp. was licensed for new, used and consignment sales, as well as service station and garage. The automotive business cannot operate until it can provide evidence to AMVIC that it is financially viable to operate with no risk to the consumer and an AMVIC investigation has been completed.

Anyone who has had a recent consumer transaction with Autos R Less Corp. or a representative of Autos R Less Corp. can contact AMVIC’s consumer services team online or by phone:

  • file a concern/complaint online at amvic.org
