AMVIC hires manager of communications and education

DATE: | News releases

As AMVIC continues to grow and head in an exciting new direction, I am pleased to announce that Laura Lowe will be joining our team as Manager of Communications and Education.

Laura is coming to AMVIC from CTV Edmonton where she was the Consumer Watch Reporter. Prior to that she held positions as a political reporter with CTV Winnipeg, CTV 2 Ottawa, CTV 2 in Windsor, Ontario, and KCAU, an ABC affiliate in Sioux City, Iowa.

Laura has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In 2009, Wayne State’s Journalism Faculty named Laura “Alumna of the Year.” She has also been honoured by Service Alberta as a Consumer Champion for an in-depth investigative series that aired in 2012.

Through her job as a consumer watch reporter, Laura is very familiar with AMVIC and the regulatory role it plays in the automotive industry. She is known for being fair and balanced in her reporting and has a strong passion for the automotive industry, having grown up near Windsor and Detroit.

Laura will join us at AMVIC on September 9 and I know you will all help me in welcoming her to our team.
